8 Months Old!

Dear Ruby,
Am I really the mommy of an 8 month old? Wow! "Enjoy every moment because it goes by SO fast!" I began hearing that on almost a daily basis when I first had you and now I fully understand why. Something changes when you become a parent, it's like time goes into warp speed. I am just so thankful that I have this blog and all of our photos so that I can look back at how little you really were just a few months ago.

This last month you experienced your first Christmas, went on your second family vacation, felt snow for the first time, and started wearing hair bows and headbands (which funny enough, I SWORE I wouldn't do).
Sitting next to your basket of toys is not longer sufficient. You like to climb INTO the basket.

Your seventh month was a fun one. You were BUSY. And when I say busy I mean if you were awake you were on the move! I guess that explains your 3 hour naps?!?! The previous month (6 months old) you were all about sitting with your toys and playing. THIS month it was more about army crawling, exploring, and pulling up on the coffee table and couches. Needless to say it's been a month of movement for you.

Another favorite activity this month has been having mini "playdates" with the little girl you keep seeing in the mirrors around the house. It cracks us up but you LOVE looking at yourself in the mirror. Hey, you are cute, I don' blame you!

Daddy and I are anxiously awaiting hearing a "mama" or a "dada" from you. No pressure but I think I deserve having you say mama first. I did give birth to you and all. You have really started mimicking our noises and exploring your own voice - you love panting like a doggy when you get excited (for food or your binky usually) another favorite is saying "ahhhh" and having us tap your mouth to make you sound like an indian.
Exploring in your room

Standing up after a few attempts - once which resulted in a pretty good digger leaving a red mark on your forehead. Didn't phase you a bit. You were so determined and of course so proud of yourself!

7 Month Milestones:
Eating fruits & veggies (thankfully now like a little "lady")
Sitting yourself up
Standing in your crib
Pulling up on furniture & couches
Clapping
Waving bye-bye / night-night
Month 8 is sure to be another fun one.
We love you Ruby Grace!

Hugs and Kisses,
Mommy & Daddy
