Since I am starting this blog two months into Ruby's life I think I'll start with a little recap.
Ruby decided to enter the world a couple weeks early, looking back she did me a huge favor. At the time I wasn't quite ready - I had my last day of work just hours before my water broke and I had BIG plans for my final two weeks of pregnancy. So much for that!
With the exception of a couple hours of some pretty terrible contractions and nausea I'd say my labor and Ruby's delivery were pretty darn easy. I NEVER expected to be able to say that. Here are some photos from May 22, 2009 - hands down the BEST day of our lives!
My first words to Ruby were "Hi Baby!" She actually moved her head and looked RIGHT at me. Whoa. What an amazing feeling!
Ruby weighed in at 6 pounds 7 ounces.
30 minutes before she was born Chris and I were chatting between pushes and we each took a guess on her weight. My guess? 6 pounds 7 ounces!! I am a true believer in a mother's intuition!
