Macy & Ruby Gracie: 9 Months Old!

Dear Ruby,

You are 3 quarters of a year old today!! Time keeps flying by but daddy and I are doing our best to soak up every moment with you. You are changing everyday and watching you develop is just amazing. You are turning into such a beautiful little girl right before our eyes. We went to the doctor yesterday for your 9 month check up and you a growing right on track. Here are your latest measurements:

Weight - 19.6 lbs (50th Percentile)

Length - 28.5 inches (75th Percentile)

Head Circumference - 17.5 inches (30th Percentile)

The past month was full of fun activities. You went to your first Super Bowl party and it looks like you take after your mom on this one, you could have cared LESS about the game, you were all about socializing! You also had your first boat ride in the bay, took your first carousel ride, had your first slumber party, and celebrated your first Valentines day.

You've been busy at home too! You are literally ALL over the place. Last month you were crawling but this month you really picked up the pace of that crawl! You also figured out that there is more to the downstairs than the living room. Previously you were just crawling around in the living room and pulling up on the coffee table and couches but a couple weeks ago you started to venture out and crawl around the corner into the kitchen. It was like you hit the jackpot - some many new things to explore!!

Ruby, thank you for allowing mama to win the first word race! You are slightly stingy with it but you've been saying mama for the past few weeks and the feeling it gives me is just the best. To say it warms my heart is an understatement! Daddy is really trying to be patient but he's been practicing "dada" with you QUITE a bit!

One thing I've loved watching is the way you love your Daddy. Weekend mornings when you two have "snuggle time" and when the two of you play on the floor - you really light up! Seeing you crawl all over him like a jungle gym is just the best! And then of course there is your reaction when daddy comes home from work - you get the BIGGEST smile on your face and you start squealing with joy. Lately you've started crawling over to him QUICKLY which is so darn cute. And of course daddy can't pick you up fast enough. He then smothers you with kisses, it's become quite the routine. I've also noticed that daddy has recently started "dropping by" the house during the day when he knows he'll you'll be awake and he can grab a quick kiss. You've already got him TOTALLY wrapped around your little finger!!
