Egg huts, dying eggs, Easter bunnies, Easter baskets, brunch, dinner - I think we covered ALL of the Easter traditions this year. We are so blessed to have so many loved ones to celebrate holidays with. It makes for busy but FUN weekend celebrations.
On Saturday we kicked off the Easter festivities with an egg hunt down on the peninsula. There were TONS of eggs for the kids and Ruby had fun picking up and immediately opening her eggs before dropping them in her basket. She picked up some speed along the way and we left with a bunch of fun treats and a brand new fan of the Easter egg hunt!
Surprise, surprise. Guess who wanted nothing to do with the Bunny?
Sunday morning Ruby woke to discover that Bunny that she didn't care for the day before had still been kind enough to leave an her an Easter basket. I couldn't help but be amused that of all the items in her basket her favorite was her new big girl undies. She insisted on trying them on right away.
After Easter baskets we headed down to the Jacobs for brunch. We had a fun morning of dying Easter eggs, decorating bunny cupcakes, and of course enjoying a delicious brunch. Ruby loved all of the hands on activities and I learned the hard way that she's still too young to handle blown out Easter eggs. Maybe next year.

Egg dying is perplexing!
After brunch we headed home to regroup and nap, well 2 of of the three of us napped...Then we were off to dinner at Mimi, Uncle Mike, and Aunt Cindy's house. It was a fun and relaxing (thanks to cousins who like to run after Ruby) end to the day. We had another egg hunt - they have the best yard for hiding eggs. Ruby was tearing around like a crazy girl and even showing everyone her new trick - somersaults!

See you next year Easter Bunny!
