Dear Ruby,
Happy Birthday big sis! Well, we said we'd get you a bounce house and a baby sister for your birthday and we delivered! I think future birthdays will have a hard time topping THAT combo. :-)
Now that we are a month into you being three daddy and I are holding on for dear life. We've been hearing from many that the, "threes are tougher than the twos." Yea, I'd have to agree. We love you so darn much but boy do you keep us busy and test our patience. You are full of energy, strong willed, curious and lately you've shown that you may have a future in DRAMA. Oh my! So yes, you keep us on our toes. But you also have a sweet and incredibly thoughtful heart. You are insistent on kissing boo boos and are always concerned for others. Just the other day when I told you I had a headache you came over and gave me a hug to "make it better" and then you proceeded to ask me hourly for the rest of the day how I was feeling. You are smart and outgoing and we know that you are going to grow up to be an amazing person.
You have handled becoming a big sister amazingly! Your whole world has been rocked and you've barely flinched. I was so worried that you would feel left out or be resentful of your sister stealing your attention but you have been SUCH an adoring big sister. I love that the first thing you say to me in the mornings when you come in is, "How's Macy Mom?" And whenever you come home your first question is, "Where's Macy??" You are a wonderful helper, you've been great at bringing mommy burp cloths and giving Macy her boppy. Daddy and I are so proud of how well you've handled this transition. Fingers crossed that you keep it up!
Preschool starts in September and you are excited about becoming a "student." I know you are going to love going to school and I look forward to seeing all the great things you learn and experience. I am already anxious to hear what your teacher has to say about you and how you behave.
Thank you for three wild and fun years Gracie girl we know you have big things in store. But please, take it easy on us this year!
Lots of love,
Mommy
A few photos of Ruby's actual birthday:
For a special birthday treat (or two) we headed to Susie Cakes.
Ruby was in heaven. Macy wasn't too impressed.
The birthday princess and her lunch
And for her special birthday dinner we went to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate, 10 day old and all! Thanks to my Mom, Dad, Ash & Sky for joining us!
Riding her birthday present - a new pink beach cruiser. Such a big girl!
Daddy is SUCH a great sport. He loves to be your prince and dance with you at "the ball." We crack up when we tell you that it's midnight because you stop, kick off your heels, and run for your room only to wait for Prince Charming to come and find you to see if your "slipper" fits. You have SUCH a wild imagination and love roll playing from all your favorite Disney movies. It's adorable - EXCEPT when you call me Ursula or the Wicked Step Mother. Yea, that happens.....
This girl loves to play dress up.
I would just like to mention here that I did NOT ask her to pose!
