Dear Macy,
Two months old already. Wow. Not everyone enjoys the early months with a baby, this stage can be tough and I know that. This makes me so SO thankful that I can say we have truly enjoyed your newborn stage. I am going to be sad to see it pass! Although it's fun to see you so alert and watch you grow, becoming more "baby" and less "infant", I am also a bit sad. I wish I could keep you small forever. I feel like these first few months are going to be the calm before the storm, that is, if history repeats itself and you are anything like your sister. Time to find a pause button!
You have had some really fun and exciting developments in the last month - MOST exciting being that you are now SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT and in your own crib even! What a proud mama I was the morning after your first full night of sleep. I am pretty sure I promised you the world if you would just do it again. Good thing you won't remember that because you did! With the exception of a couple nights after you caught your sisters cold you have continued to sleep great. Right now you are sleeping from about 9:00 pm to 7:00 am give or take. You go girl!
My other favorite thing you do now is "talk." What a sweet little voice you have. And I love the expressions that you give me while we chat it up, it's like you are really trying to tell me something important and I just can't get enough of it. Most of the time I tell you, "Well, I love you TOO!" because I am sure you are telling me you love me! During one of our talks the other day, I said to Ruby, "Come and listen Rubes, your sister is telling me a story!" She looked at me and said, "Her is speaking Spanish!" One of my many laughs of the day...
Yet another favorite - your giant gummy smiles. You are such a happy baby! You always have a giant grin for me when I get your out of your crib, after you eat, and even after your diaper changes. It's like it's your way of saying "thanks!" and it's adorable. Another sure way to get you to smile is to sing to you. Your favorite song is "Down in the Meadow" and you just light up when you hear it. Aussie's singing is your fav but really anyone will do. The best is when you have your binky in your mouth and you smile so big it falls out. LOVE!

I can't believe this, but here is proof you are indeed a 2nd child - I waited until you were almost 5 weeks old before you had a "real" bath. That sounds totally crazy and I almost didn't admit it. But have no fear - you were clean! I've been doing the "sponge bath" thing and lots of baby wipe wipe downs. I kept thinking, "Tomorrow I'll give her a bath" and the days just kept flying by. Anyways, shortly after you hit a month old you had your first bath. You didn't love it - you were a bit skeptical. You have since learned to enjoy bath time and it's a good thing because they are becoming a daily occurrence due to pure necessity. You are all of a sudden the QUEEN of the diaper blow outs. Yep. If their was a medal for blow outs you would surely get the gold. Not to mention the spitting up, it's continued into your second month and it's no joke. For all those of you reading this - consider yourself warned. If you hold Macy you WILL be spit up on. But hey, those are our only complaints.
A few photos from the past month:

Sister love. I can't wait to watch this relationship grow!
Your daddy is so proud of you and your sister. It's pretty clear you already adore him too!
First beach bonfire? Check!
Ironically I think it may have been Ruby's first too. That's being a second child for you!
The 4th of July - your first holiday! As the picture shows you slept through the majority of the day but that didn't stop us from having you participate!
My little tummy sleeper. For you tummy time in the living room turns into nap time!
Our fist go at the double stroller. We walked to Mimi & Aunt Cindy's for a swim day with the cousins and it went off without a hitch. We'd probably do it more often if it didn't take so long to PREPARE for the walk. I swear I was exhausted before we even left the driveway!
Your bubble bath spot.
I think your days in the sink are numbered - you are already almost too big!
We love you Miss Macy - in your short time with us you have made our family so much MORE. More fun, more love, more EVERYTHING. We think we'll keep you!!
Love you lots,
Mama
