Dear Macy,
Oh my sweet girl. Has it really just been 4 months since the day we met? Wow. I feel like you've been a part of this family forever! I was just talking to Ruby the other day about when she came to the hospital to meet you, her little sister, for the first time. She remembered it clearly because she reminded me that she brought me flowers (thank you, Ruby.) But when I asked her if she remembered what it was like to not have a sister she shook her head and said "Nooooo" with a little laugh - like, "Of course not silly!" I totally agree. We are so glad you are here to round out our family. You sit with us at the dinner table, you ride with us in the car, and all your "equipment" has taken over the family room. So yea, although you are little you are VERY much a part of this family. We all take pride in making you laugh and smile and we've started calling you "Happy" because you might be the happiest little being we've ever known. How did we get so lucky??
The past month has been full of summer fun. You experienced the Orange County Fair, took a trip to Moreno's, participated in swim days over at Mimi's, and joined in on play date or two. You also tried a few new toys this month - your activity center and the bumbo. You seem love them both. I think they make you feel like you are a big girl and that seems to make you happy. You also discovered the TV this past month and I just crack up because although you are three years younger I swear you have a longer attention span than your big sister - you LOVE to watch tv! Do you think you could talk your sister into sitting still for a movie one day??
Unfortunately, another first for you this past month was getting your first cold. You can thank your sister for that. Bummer! We had two tough nights of crappy sleep and then thankfully you figured out how to bypass your stuffy nose and breath through your mouth. It was pretty tough seeing you sick but the good news is that it was just a minor cold - no fever.
This month you really began to figure out your hands. You are grabbing toys and of course trying to shove your fist in your mouth just about any chance you get. You are still spitting up quite a bit but I have noticed that it's decreasing a bit thank the Lord. Hopefully we'll be out of that stage soon.
Macy, you are pure joy. You warm my heart and make me so very thankful. Watching you grow and interact with your sister brings me so much happiness. As both your great grandma's say to you (and now your sister says it to you too..) "I love you, A bushel and a peck, a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck."
A few photos from your third month:
Play date with Zoe
At Moreno's. Thank you Lu & Tim for the adorable dresses for the girls!
The OC Fair - you LOVED all the pretty lights and your sister loved all the treats!
Cousins!
Big smiles for your Mimi - she had just sang to you
Hanging out in your activity center while watching Barney = JACKPOT!
You can (and do) stare at your butterfly mobile for hours.

Lots of love,
Mama
