Ruby and I hosted a cookie exchange last week for a few of the moms and babies in our playgroup. I've never participated in a cookie exchange but I've enjoyed the benefits of my mom's yearly exchange and I've always wanted to have one of my own. Well, this year I did it.
The exchange went well - the mom's left with a bunch of cookies and the babies had a blast playing with each other and each other's toys. Santa (my dad) even made an appearance and had gifts for the babies! The youngest babies of the group were fine with Santa but a couple of the older babies were NOT too excited about the jolly old man.
All in all it was a success. Note to self regarding next year - DON'T wait until the morning of the exchange to make red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting from scratch. Not so smart.... But hey, like my mom said, at least they were "fresh".
