On Friday I took Ruby to see Santa at South Coast Plaza. What an outing! We went with our play group and it was quite a scene. There were 15 moms, 15 babies and plenty other moms and kids wanting to see Santa. We all got in line after "valeting" our stroller and diaper bags. Thankfully the line moved quickly and we reached the front of the line in just a few minutes. Just as I was getting ready to walk Ruby up to see Santa I noticed a familiar stink. I laughed with another mom as we tried to determine WHO had the dirty diaper. Just my luck..... it was Ruby. As I was mentally debating on how to handle the situation (and deciding, "Oh - it will only take 10 seconds to take the picture - Santa won't notice") one of Santa's little helpers who watched us sniff out the smell looked at me and said, "Uh-oh! Looks like SOMEONE needs a diaper change!". I laughed and said, "Yea, I think that's Ruby. Do you think Santa will care?" She said "No, as long as it isn't leaking out or anything." Well, as soon as she said that she walked over to Santa, whispered in his ear and then LOUDLY announced that "Santa is requesting a diaper change." I couldn't believe Ruby's timing! So, off we went to retrieve the stroller, find a bathroom, and deal with the situation. Thankfully we were allowed to come back to the front of the line. We wound up getting a pretty cute photo with Santa so it was all worth it. But SERIOUSLY Ruby, try and plan better next time OK?!?!?
