Dear Ruby,You are another month older and OH so much wiser! Back when you were just a newborn other parents often said, "Oh just wait.... she will be SO much fun once she gets to be a little older!" We've officially seen what everyone was talking about. Daddy and I had all kinds of fun with you this past month! By far it's been your most active, talkative, and personality filled month. Your waves, claps, and dancing just make us melt. We finally have our cuddly baby back, just this month you've started giving hugs and laying your head on our shoulders for quick little cuddles. We can't quite get enough of them and I think you know it!!
I also have to say it's been your most NAUGHTY month! You definitely understand the things we don't want you to do and lately after hearing a "No" or an "Uh-Uh-Uuuuuu" you stop what you are doing, turn and look, smile, and then go back to whatever you were doing and do it again but FASTER!!! Right now this is still cute and somewhat funny but I can see that down the road you are going to give us a run for our money! You've also mastered the art of the forced cry which you like to demonstrate when things aren't quite going the way you'd like. It's SO fake!!
This past month you attended your first surprise party and first baby shower, celebrated your first St. Patty's day, took your first official swing at the park, and finally got your first "real" highchair. You figured out the sippy cup this month and also really started to dance. Daddy and I cracked up the other night when a hip hop song came while we were out to dinner and you started grooving in your high chair. Can't wait to have dance party with you!
Early this month you made daddy's day when you said "Da-da". So sweet! We just love your little voice. Except of course for when you scream. Yep...you figured that out this month too. I am not talking about a screaming cry - this is a high pitched yell which you like to do when you are restrained and you'd like to get down. Yikes! You masted that art one day while I was vacuuming and I think you surprised yourself (you DEFINITELY surprised me) but we've continued to hear this little scream and I am sure hoping it's just a phase!
You gained a few more teeth this month. You went from 2 bottom teeth to 4 and now your top 2 front teeth are poking through. I can't wait to see your "big girl" smile! Thanks to these new teeth we've been giving you more and more table food and you just think that's the best. You love meal time. As soon as I strap on your bib you start flapping your arms in excitement. Now if we could just figure out a way to get you to stop tossing your food over the side of your highchair! You just love sharing with the doggie.
A few photos from your ninth month:
At Nana's surprise 60th birthday party
St. Patty's day with Mom - we had a "party" of four with the Danus girls
This seahorse was a gift from your friend Matty. It has become quite a favorite!

Riding a horsey that mommy used to ride when I was little!
Next time you ride this guy it'll be in Colorado when we go visit your new friend!!
We are so proud of you little one.
XOXO,
Ma-ma & Da-da
