Last weekend we joined my parents on a trip up to San Fransisco so we could help the birthday girl celebrate in style. What a fun trip! We had amazing weather, got to spend time with Uncle Joshie and Louisa, ate yummy food, and managed to do a little sightseeing too! I was a little concerned about how we'd do with a 10 month old on the plane ride and sleeping and napping in a hotel but Ruby was a total trooper.
A few highlights from the trip:
- My mom RUNNING to the rental car desk after exiting the tram so that she would beat everyone else and we wouldn't have to wait in line for the car. After this I decided that my mom and dad MUST audition for the next season of The Amazing Race. SERIOUSLY.
- Dinner at The Balboa Cafe
- Eating yummy sandwiches @ Chrissy Field. Beautiful views of Alcatraz, Golden Gate Bridge, and the city.
- Driving down Lombard Street, past Coit Tower, and having an Irish Coffee at The Buena Vista all before 9am so we could get back for a morning nap. It's AMAZING what you can do when you are out of your hotel room by 7:30am!
- Our Oakland visit - shopping on Peidmont, a beautiful walk to Lake Merrit, and an awesome BBQ at Josh and Louisa's.
- The crazy lady at Starbucks singing "Itsy Bitsy Spider" to Ruby.
- Ruby's carousel ride at Golden Gate Park.
- The yummy lemon cookies. Hey, why did I only get a half?
Some photos of our trip:
This is how she travelled - and thankfully she loved it! (Daddy did too)

The infamous Irish Coffee.
What a fabulous way to start the day!
We tried our best to get a family photo but Ruby wasn't too interested.

Ruby is still a little skeptical of the "horsies"
God bless the Pack n Play from our hotel.
We took it to Josh and Louisa's and it was PERFECT!

Hey Rubes, you've got some food on your face...

Louisa's mom Marge joined us for the BBQ on Saturday night
Thank you Mom and Dad for a memorable trip!
