Full Time Ruby Wrangler

Having a job is SO two weeks ago! It was bound to happen....I had somehow survived three rounds of layoffs before my time was up but I was finally laid of from my part-time job at PACE a couple weeks ago. Although I'll miss the people I worked with I am overall really excited at the opportunity to be a full-time stay at home mom. I have to admit - I was a little concerned with how I'd handle the transition from having two days a week of "me" time where I could shower, head out, enjoy adult interaction and peaceful lunches to my new role as "Full-time Ruby Wrangler" (My new job description per Chris.)

Well, I am happy to report that I am in my second week of my "new job" and I LOVE IT!! I owe a huge thank you to my supportive husband who immediately assured me that everything would be A-OK after being laid off and to my extremely generous parents and grandparents who have offered to continue to  watch Ruby for a few hours each week, allowing me to run errands and get some things done without the "help" of my busy little one. I am blessed! I am excited for what's ahead - I am a firm believer that when one door shuts another one opens and I have a feeling there are fun things in store for us.

Here are a few photos of how we've been entertaining ourselves here at home. Gotta love the Dollar Tree (have you been there?!?)

Ruby is OBSESSED with her babies. When I saw this little bottle I knew she'd love feeding her babies. Plus I remember having one of these bottles and loving it (mine had orange "juice" in it.)  I just had to get one for Ruby.
"Here you go baby"
"Wait a minute - what the heck?"
"Mommy, would you like some milk?"
Now these were a random buy but they've become fun. Ruby loves to get everyone to try them on. Warning - if you come over you WILL wear these glasses. :-)
"Mom, is this how they go?"
"How do they look?"
"Hey, my nose is covering my mouth!"

OH MY!!!! I must admit, when I saw the title of this post, I expected to see Ruby , in her cow girl dud's sporting the "Horsie" or something!! I remember when my job came to an end ( Long before the economy went in the toilet) but, I still hated the thought of not have interactions with "BIG PEOPLE"! and as you have discovered its kind of nice!! Helps to have a supportive hubby and family tho doesn't it :) think of the MANY fun times you'll be able to see 1st hand! and Congrats on your "New" Position as "Ruby Wrangler"!!
