Our adorable niece Jordyn came over for a sleepover and some fun a couple weeks ago. We had a really great time and Ruby is still asking when her cousin Jordie is going to come back to go "ni-night in mommy's bed".
Ruby just adores her cousin and wants to do everything JUST the way Jordie does. Thankfully Jordyn is VERY sweet and patient with Ruby. I had fun just watching the two of them play together. We kept things pretty mellow the night of the sleepover - we watched The Little Mermaid and Chris went out to grab us all frozen yogurt. The following day I kinda racked my brain for an idea of what to do with a 2 year old and a nine year old which would be fun for both and I decided on the Balboa Fun Zone. Good Call! We had a really fun time!
A few (OK, a LOT) of pictures from our trip:
First stop - horsie rides.
These horsies are no joke, WAY faster than the carousel at the mall!
Rubes and her cheese ball fake smile
Next stop - Ruby's first ferris wheel ride
I remember riding this carousel as a kid! Where does the time go?!?!
Jordyn got to do the "big girl" bungee/trampoline jump.
She had a blast and we loved watching her!
The Bay Arcade - no stop at the Fun Zone is complete without a few games of Skee-Ball.
Did you know I LOVE Skee-ball?! I can't wait until I can play with Ruby. Right now it's a safety hazard to even allow her to hold one of those wooden balls so we held off....
Next up was a round trip ferry ride over to Balboa Island.
And finally, we ended our fun zone trip with treats. Ruby tackled her frozen banana like a total pro. She had an audience watching her! Made her mama so proud.... :-)
All in all it was the perfect day. We loved spending time with Jordyn and can't wait for the next sleepover. Oh and remember how I said that Ruby wants to do things just like Jordie? Well, at the end of our two days together Ruby had stopped calling me Mama and instead was strictly calling me "Auntie Jaime." Oh Ruby....

HOW FUN is ALL that !!we need to visit there when we come down next year
Oh, my. I remember going there with your mom. Ask her about the day I forced her to swim across the bay. What fun to take Ruby there. Looking forward to the time Ruby takes her little girl. Enjoy the days. They go so fast.
Love,
Judy
