Thankful 2009

Last year Thanksgiving was an extra special day. We shared the news that we were expecting and it was such a nice way to celebrate and of course be thankful. I remember looking forward to having a little one with us at our next turkey day and here we are!
To break the news we decided to have everyone write what they were thankful for on a leaf. We threw them in a basket, picked a random one, read it aloud, and then tried to guess who wrote what. We had my Grandma (Ruby) Bennett read our aloud and it was SO fun to see every one's reactions!
Here is the photo of Ruby we shared with everyone last year. I was just 13 weeks along.

THIS year the Candlish family has much to be thankful for! Sometimes we can get caught up in focusing on the things we want and Thanksgiving is always a great reminder to stop, take a look at all of our blessings, and say thanks! We feel rich in all the things that matter this year - love, family, and friendship.
To say we are thankful for our beautiful daughter is an understatement! She is the best thing that has ever happened to us and we can't kiss and love her enough! Here are a few (of the many) other things we are thankful for this year.....

Ruby is thankful for:
  • All the family and friends who love and spoil her
  • Her "daycare" providers
  • Baby Einsteins lullabies
  • Sophie the giraffe
  • Warm bottles
  • When daddy sings the Barney song
Chris is thankful for:
  • My wife
  • Family dinners
  • All of our loved ones
  • People who need their homes painted
  • The "Bo" dog
  • My office helper Lynn
  • Peet's coffee
  • Golf
  • And that the Raiders finally benched their Quarterback
Jaime is thankful for:
  • Epidurals
  • Kisses from Ruby
  • My hubby who works hard so I can stay home 3 days a week
  • My wonderful and supportive friends and family
  • Finding our 2009 playgroup
  • Erin suggesting that I start a blog
  • Iced Americano's
  • My Cannon Rebel
