Dear Ruby,
Happy 11 month birthday baby girl! I can't believe that this is your last month as a baby. It makes me a little sad to think about it really. But let's face it, even though you'll be considered a toddler soon you'll ALWAYS be our baby.
I feel like this past month has been a bit of a whirlwind. Did we ever stop? Here is a breakdown of what your 10th month was like... You went on your first plane ride, explored San Fransisco and Oakland, met the Easter bunny and celebrated your first Easter, had your first lunch date at an organic "restaurant", and wished both Nana and Daddy a happy birthday. As far as milestones go, you reached a few this month. You started pointing to things, standing without assistance, and in the matter of days (maybe even hours) you mastered the stairs. You are also trying REALLY had to convince mommy you don't need your morning nap anymore which I must admit has been a little traumatic for me. Needless to say I am not giving up that easy and thankfully as I type this you ARE actually taking a morning nap! You are trying new foods almost on a daily basis and so far I don't believe we've come across a food you don't like. One thing is for sure - God bless the creator of Cheerios's. They are lifesavers when it comes to entertaining you while Daddy and I are eating out or when mommy is shopping. YOU LOVE THEM!
This month was our first time away from one another longer than just overnight and we both did great. You had daddy and lots of other family to take care of and entertain you. I had fun friends and a new city to keep me from missing you too much. While I was away I couldn't help but wonder what your reaction would be when I came home. Even though it was late when I got home there was no way I could wait to see you until the morning. So I picked you up out of your crib to give you a kiss and a hug and when I had you out in front of me you looked at me with sleepy, barely open eyes and gave me the BIGGEST smile. You made this little noise too that was almost like a little squeal and then you immediately put your head on my shoulder and gave me a hug. Then, as if you couldn't believe it, you shot back up, looked at me again, and repeated the smile, squeal, and hug. I seriously almost couldn't stand it. We snuggled in your chair for a while so you could fall back asleep and when I got into bed daddy asked, "How was it" and I am sure he was talking about the trip but all I could tell him is that you had almost just made me cry you were so sweet. Thanks for making mommy feel so special!
Ruby, I know daddy and I tell you all the time, but we just think you are the BEST. We love everything about you - your smiles, your laughs, your hugs, your loud sqawking, and your sweet little whispers. We love you with all of our hearts. MU-WAH!
Love,
Ma-Ma & Da-Da
