Duck!

The past week Ruby has had a LOT to say. I sure wish I could understand all of it! She is mimicking us all the time and it's so cute to hear her little voice and see her wheels turning. We've been hearing Mama and Dada for a couple months now which we LOVE but on Friday Ruby said her first real word! And of all words?!?!? It was "DUCK"! She's also pretty good with "Quack" but it's not quite as clear....

I can't remember exactly what prompted Ruby's exclamation but I cracked up when I heard it because it's been a long standing little joke between Ruby and my mom - My mom says, "I am a duck and I say Quack, Quack, Quack, Quack, Quack" and then Ruby laughs. It really never fails and this has been going on since Ruby was just a few weeks old. I had to call my mom and let her know she had basically brain washed my child.

Needless to say we've heard the word duck about a hundred times this weekend and today we figured we better take Ruby to the park to see the ducks. A little clarification was in order since Ruby seems to think EVERYTHING is a duck. :-)

"Alright, where are they?"
Not too excited to see us
"Ohhhh..... THAT'S a duck?!?!"
What a bummer! You can't feed the ducks at Tewinkle Park anymore?!?
"Ok Daddy, I think I get it!"
What word is next little one?
