We had Ruby's 1st birthday party this past weekend and we had a blast! The party was exactly what we wanted - a celebration of our first year as parents and of course Ruby's first year of life. The weather cooperated and we were surrounded by the most important people in our lives, our friends and family. A big thank you to everyone who shared their Saturday with us. We are so head over heels for our little girl and it meant the world to us to have everyone there to celebrate her.
I am still sorting through all of the photos and I'll have some professional photos to share later in the week but for now here are some highlights of our little girl's big day:
I have the best memories of my birthday parties as a kid and a lot of those memories include a pinata. When I saw this adorable owl pinata I knew we had to have it. It was a hit!

Ruby right there in the mix with the big kids. I think this is right before Auntie Erin and I had to fish out some candy from the birthday girl's mouth! Whoops.

Get some Connor! I love it!
Ahh, the cake. Chris, with the help of Irvine Ranch Market, saved the day on this one. I had ordered a "mini cake" from Vons and picked it up the morning of and it was a little bit too mini! I had ordered the above cake topper from an online source so when I tried to put it on the mimi cake it was hanging over the sides. UGH. I sent daddy over to Irvine Ranch just a couple hours before the party to solve it and he did! Whew!
Singing "Happy Birthday" - she loved it!
So tickled by her audience!
Her first fist full of frosting. Yummy!
Totally going for it!
