Macy & Ruby Gracie: 21 Months Old

Dear Ruby,

Here we are again. It's time for your monthly recap and I am once again finding myself wondering WHERE the time is going? I know I sound like a broken record but I really do scratch my head each and every month because I'd swear YOU WERE JUST BORN A FEW MONTHS AGO.

As time marches on your daddy and I are just falling more and more in love with you. Each month as you get older your personality shines through a little more and we are so proud of the little girl are turning into. You are happy, outgoing, confident, and the life of the party. I WISH I had the energy you have - you RARELY stop while awake. The perk is that you are a wonderful sleeper and napper. God bless those 3 hour afternoon naps!

Here are things we want to remember about you at 20 Months Old:

You have started to sing your ABC's. You little voice is so sweet and I just adore when you go on and on long after you've lost your "place" in the alphabet.
Counting is your other trick. It usually goes a little something like this: "Ooonnneee, Twwwwwooo, Fiiiiiive, Niiiiine, Ten." Simply precious.
You have awesome dance moves. Daddy loves your chicken arm move and I just love your little bootie shake. I could watch you boogie all day.
You come up with hilarious and random new words on a daily basis. One of my favorites this past month took place in Target. You were riding in the cart holding a soon to be purchased pair of shoes. You unfortunately snapped your neck with the elastic holding the shoes together (Yes, you were putting the shoes over your head). Anyways, you yelled (loudly) "Owwie my NECK." I busted up laughing because I had no clue you even knew what/where your neck was! Sure, we talk about our body parts (arms, legs, etc) but I had never covered where your neck was and I was shocked and amused to hear you yell that.
One of your favorite things to do with daddy every night is play chase. The two of you have quite the routine of running through the living room, kitchen, and dining room trying to spook one another around each turn. There is lots of laughing and (happy) screaming involved. I am sure the neighbors love it.
I already mentioned that you don't sit still much but lately you've been showing promising signs of slowing down just a little bit. You now ask to "cuddle mama" which I can't really resist. You love climbing into mommy and daddy's bed with a book or even better the ipad to read or look at pictures. We do this daily and I look forward to it!
Charlie is becoming your best bud. Daddy and I joke that you are both "runners" so you see eye to eye. You are even practicing your sharing skills with Charlie since he seems to have a soft spot for stuffed animals. I think you two have quite the friendship blooming and it's been fun to witness.

Against my better judgement I decided to cut your hair this past month. I probably should have left it to the professionals but it was a bit spur of the moment. Oh well- you can see better!

You love your milk, juice, and wa-wa

This was amazing and makes me really look forward to warm weather. Last month we had a couple of warm days. I filled up this bucket with water and you were entertained for 30 minutes by just splashing around. Pure joy (for both of us)
