Macy & Ruby Gracie: 13 Months Old!

Being One is FUN!

Dear Ruby,

Now that you are 13 months old you are officially done with your monthly onesie stickers! And it's a good thing because you had figured out how to take those darn things off and it was making it really hard for mommy to get a cute photo of you wearing it. We'll switch it up a little this year. How about we take a photo each month in this cute dress mommy found for you. I bought a couple different sizes so we'll see how it goes. And I think for now I'll just do a short recap of each month and save the letters for the extra special birthday's. 'Cause let's face it - you are keeping me REALLY busy these days and I just don't find as much time to blog as I used to.

I don't know why exactly, but I love seeing Ruby squat down to pick things up.

Milestones/Things learned this month:

First and foremost - Ruby learned to walk at 12.5 months. Having her walk is SO fun but SO exhausting. :-)
Ruby graduated to sippy cups 100% - no more baby bottles! I thought this would be a traumatic transition and it was not an issue. She went cold turkey right at 12 months old.
No more formula. When we switched to sippy cups we also switched to whole milk. Ruby LOVES her milk and mommy loves not having to fuss with formula.
Ruby can now climb up on the couch without assistance and she also figured out how to shimmy off the couch and our bed backwards.
We finally got a big girl car seat and she now sits facing forward. It's a WHOLE new world!
Drinking through a straw - no problem!
Many more words this month. My favorites are "Bop" (she named her binky) and "Bye"

"Here Mommy, this is for you." Ruby loves to pick things up and then bring them to me. I guess it's better than putting it in her mouth!

Favorites:

Mommy's iphone, the remote, and mommy's keys. These three items alone could entertain Ruby all day long.
Food. This girl can EAT. Current favorites are her oatmeal with bananas, pineapple, and any type of berry.
The park. Ruby LOVES to watch the big kids play.
