Macy & Ruby Gracie: 16 Months Old

Dear Ruby,

Welcome to 16 months old baby girl! I am on the couch pinching myself because it's 9:30am and you are STILL sleeping! What did I do to deserve this rare treat? I think you are still trying to settle into a new routine now that you are officially down to just one nap a day (tear). Whatever the reason, THANK YOU! Now I can finally sit down and recap your ever busy 15th month.

Things we want to remember about you at 15 Months old:

You had your first round of "big girl" swim lessons
Happy became your favorite word. You rarely just say it once, it usually is "Happy, happy, happy" accompanied with a slight head tilt and smile that just melt our hearts. Nothing makes us happier than to hear that YOU are so happy!
You climbed out of your crib and lived to tell about it. Well, you actually didn't tell me much but you had no problem showing mommy just how you managed to get out. Thankfully we haven't had a another escape since we turned the crib around.
You now enjoy making animal sounds. Your favorites include the Cow, Kitty, Duck, Horse, and Dinosaur (Yes, you learned how to "Roar" from a little boy at the park).
You began to "pretend" this month - you pretend to talk on the phone, read books aloud, and talk to your baby. It cracks me up to hear your jibberish. Sometimes I feel like you are mocking me just a little bit, especially when you change your voice to talk to your baby. :-)
Your "Bop" (Pacifier) became "Boppy" this month. You say it with a New Yorker accent like, "Bop-eee" and it always gives us a chuckle.
We often hear you run down a list of your favorite people. I love hearing you rattle off the names of your loved ones.

This month we tried out pigtails. You aren't too crazy about them....

I love this face. And come on, the pigtails are pretty dang cute in a little rascal's sort of way!

You spent a couple days at the Newport Coast Marriott this month hanging out at Gigi & Tucka's timeshare. You LOVED the telephone - here you are chatting with your Aussie.
